Seb Lovell-Huckle
General Manager
Seb Lovell-Huckle is General Manager of Birmingham Opera Company, appointed in 2025. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the company and works closely with the General Director, Creative Producer, and Music Director to deliver internationally ground-breaking productions while deepening the company's connection with communities across Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Seb previously served as Chief Executive of the English Symphony Orchestra and Executive Director of Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, one of the world's leading ensembles for new music.
A passionate advocate for combining artistic excellence with social engagement, Seb is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is active in the voluntary music sector. He serves as Chair of Stafford Sinfonia and is a trustee of Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens Trust and Stringcredibles. An accomplished cellist, he regularly performs with community orchestras. He graduated from the University of Manchester with a MusB Music degree in 2012, where he served as President of the Chorus and Manchester University Music Society.
